Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculation

Grade point average is calculated by taking the number of points assigned each letter grade and dividing it by the number of courses taken.  Refer to the following table:

C 2.0 3.0 4.0 (3)*
D 1.0 2.0 3.0 (2)*
F 0 0 0

 
* Student must take the Advance Placement College Board Exam to receive maximum quality points.  Failure to take the College Board AP exam will result in a reduction of the course GPA from an AP level to Honors level. The exam requires additional outside preparation and effort on the part of the student beyond an Honors class.
