On November 17, 2009, Gabriel Gaweda (CCHS Class of 2009) along with his brother, Joshua Gaweda (stationed in Afghanistan), were awarded a commendation by Mayor Bill Saffo for aiding in the rescue of an elderly couple who accidentally drove their vehicle in a retention pond. Gabe will be entering basic training at Ft. Bragg in February 2010.

Emily Nielsen (Class of 2008, pictured left) and Jacqui Barletta (Class of 2009) are having a successful year at Meredith College Emily was a recipient of the Meredith Academic Scholarship Award ($48,000) and was inducted into the academic honorary society of Alpha Lambda Delta (http://www.nationalald.org/) after her first year at Meredith. |
